INSIGHTS / STAFFING DECISIONS

Recruitment or temporary staffing? Start with the need.

Hiring someone into your organization and arranging cover are different decisions. The starting point is what you need the arrangement to do.

A healthcare staffing setting.

“We need someone” can mean more than one thing.

Do you need someone to join your organization, cover an assignment, or work with the team before discussing a hire? Those are different decisions—and they call for different arrangements.

Use the comparison below as a starting point. You don’t need to settle on a service before contacting us.

Recruitment: you want to hire

The focus is finding candidates for your organization to consider employing. Anderson Blake Healthcare’s recruitment work includes sourcing, initial interviews, candidate summaries and employer-interview coordination.

You stay involved in the requirements and the hiring decision, without running the whole search yourself. The scope, fees and any replacement provisions are discussed before the engagement begins.

This is the direct route when your intention is already to hire. You do not need to start with a temporary assignment simply because one is available as an option.

Temporary staffing: you need cover

The starting point is an assignment requirement: the work, location and timing. Availability and arrangements need to be established before cover can be confirmed.

Under the Anderson Blake Healthcare staffing model, the agency pays the assigned staff and invoices the client organization. The applicable rate, schedule and practical arrangements are agreed for the assignment.

This does not automatically mean you intend to hire the professional directly later. It is a conversation about the staffing gap you have now.

Staff-to-Hire: you want to consider the working relationship

Where appropriate, a paid staffing assignment can provide experience of working together before both sides consider direct employment.

The professional is paid for the assignment. Any later move to direct employment is a separate decision and arrangement—not an automatic result or a free trial.

It may be worth discussing when the working relationship is an important unresolved question. It is not a guarantee that a later hire will succeed, and the role’s essential requirements still apply from the start.

What if the people are already there?

If the issue is development for existing staff, another hiring arrangement may not be the relevant answer. Workforce Partnership is the separate route for agreed development support, quarterly reviews and upskilling.

You don’t have to purchase recruitment or staffing to discuss support for the team you already have.
